Vero Beach, Fla. The Trenton Tigers are one step away from securing the state championship in Class 1A softball after shutting out Wewahitchka, 4-0 in Tuesday's semifinal game at the Jackie Robinson Complex in Vero Beach. The victory avenges a 2018 state title game loss to the Gators.

Keeli Zingaro was the hitting star for the Tigers with three hits and three RBI's. Trenton broke the game open with three runs in the third inning as the first five batters in the frame all reached base safely.

In the circle, Darian Ingram tossed a complete game three-hit shutout for Trenton, which improves to 26-0 this season.

The Tigers will take on Sneads at 1:35 on Wednesday for the state crown. Sneads joined the Tigers in the title game by defeating Lafayette, 12-1.
