The program is administered through Florida Farm Bureau, Florida's oldest and largest general agricultural organization. The Alachua Conservation Trust has been awarded a $35,000 grant by the Conservation Alliance. This money will go toward new acquisition projects along the Santa Fe River.
Alachua County deputies are looking for a suspected arsonist in Newberry. The search comes after an individual set a bale of hay on fire at Newberry High School last Thursday, deputies said.
Open auditions wrapped up Monday night for the play at the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre on 619 S. Main Street. The dark comedy was written by Michael Presley Bobbitt, who's also a Gainesville native. The play follows the story about a man who digs up his deceased father to give him the Viking funeral he always wanted.
