Alachua Sheriff's Office asking for public's help in finding shooters
Alachua County deputies are asking for the public's help to find those involved in a shooting in Gainesville. It happened just before 6 Wednesday night in Greentree Village. Deputies say shots were fired, but it seems no one was hurt.
"There's been some property damage, but clearly there are folks who are out there who think they can engage in gunplay in a crowded neighborhood, near bus stops, near where children play. And we're asking for the public's help to identify these individuals," said Public Information Officer Brett Rhodenizer with the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
"When we have incidents like these, the sheriff's office has means to reach out to you whether you have a home phone or cell phone number and let you know if you need to shelter in place or take cover in some other fashion," said Rhodenizer. "This was a very rapidly evolving incident and by the time we even received the call and were able to respond it was already over."
