A former deputy at the Alachua County Sheriff's Office is now suing the Sheriff Sadie Darnell
Ryan Scott worked in the detention department and was a firearms safety trainer at ASO.
His lawsuit accuses the sheriff and some other high ranking employees of passing deputies that did not perform well enough to pass the training tests. He claims he made multiple complaints of this happening and they were all ignored.
He says he was eventually fired for speaking up, and that he should have been protected for being the whistleblower.
He is requesting lost wages damages. The lawsuit requests a jury trial. We have reached out to ASO for comment.
