GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The Alachua County Public School District is hoping to help families stretch their household budgets this summer. Throughout the summer, free meals are being handed out at 93 locations across Alachua County for all children 18 and under.

There are multiple ways to pick up the meals including in-person, at bus stop locations, curbside, and even a food truck.

Starting Thursday, the county’s grab-and-go meals curbside distribution service will begin. Running through July 22nd, that service provides meals at 19 locations for every day of the week.

For both of these programs, no registration is required and the child does not have to be present, as long as some form of identification for the child is provided. The meals are federally funded and provided regardless of a family’s income status.
