Two deadly crashes in Alachua County are under investigation
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a crash at around 10:30 Thursday night on Southbound I-75, where they found an SUV had driven off the road and into several trees where it caught fire. The 28-year-old driver died in the crash.
Early Friday morning, Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a crash on Southbound County Road 219A, where they found a 2001 Mazda truck overturned on the side of the road.
The driver of the truck was pronounced dead on the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol homicide investigators are continuing to figure out the cause of the incident.
