Alachua firefighters evacuate two commerical buildings, contain 1-acre brush fire

ALACHUA, Fla. (WCJB) - Firefighters with the Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) said they were still on the scene of a brush fire that they contained Tuesday afternoon in Alachua near San Felasco Tech City business park.

The brush fire began near 11930 Research Circle, according to authorities, and two commercial buildings were evacuated because the fire was spreading towards them.

ACFR officials reported no damage to either building that was threatened.

The fire was about an acre in size before it was contained because of the wind gusts, officials said.
