University of Florida cuts ties with professor emeritus due to Charlie Kirk comments
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The University of Florida has cut ties with a former law professor after he apparently made disparaging comments about Charlie Kirk and President Donald Trump following his assassination.
UF officials announced on Friday that they had rescinded Jeffrey Harrison’s emeritus status after becoming aware of a concerning social media post they say violates university policies.
Harrison retired from his position at the Levin College of Law in 2020. His expertise was in economics, contracts, antitrust and copyright law, according to his bio on a UF webpage that has since been removed.
