UPDATE: Belleview police make arrest in Sunday shooting

BELLEVIEW, Fla. (WCJB) - New details are emerging about the death of a 16-year-old boy from Belleview, who was shot and killed on Sunday. A press release from Belleview Chief of Police, Terry Holland states, that on April 3, officers found Christopher Broad Jr. shot inside of a residence on SE 52nd Court, a mobile home park in the city.
On Thursday, detectives said they arrested Joshua Vining, 17, for Aggravated Manslaughter of a child with a firearm. Vining has since paid his $30,000 bond and was released from the Marion County jail at 10:38 a.m. Friday. Another teen, Colton Whitler, 17, was also arrested as part of the investigation for providing law enforcement with false information. Whitler was also released from custody Friday morning. His bond was set at $1,000.
Detectives said that Vining and Broad “were taking turns shooting at each other while wearing a vest which contained a form of body armor.”
Both Vining and Whitler are being charged as adults, according to Holland’s letter.
